The French Broad e‘N’pire™ NTRAK Club is a model railroad organization consisting of 18 members who model in “N” scale, the majority of whom live in the Hendersonville area, although we also have members from around western North Carolina and one in Georgia! Membership is open to anyone with an interest in model railroading.
The club has been in existence since 1991 and meets at 503 7th ave in Hendersonville. We have our layout there and meet to work on or operate the layout every Wednesday night from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Open to the public on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm. There is a business meeting on the second Wednesday followed by an operating session. Time and location of meetings will be posted in the ‘Members Only’ section of the Club’s web site. Dues are $120 per year ($10/mo.) The Club organizes and hosts a model railroad show and swap meet each year in October (Autumn Rails), and also participate in several NTRAK and model railroad shows each year.
The club gets name from the Greenville and French Broad River Railroad, an actual railroad chartered in 1855 to operate between Greenville and Asheville. The real railroad was never constructed, but lives in history and as interpreted on our model railroad layout as the French Broad River Railroad.
